Groundwater modeling of the Al Haza Oasis

The Kingdom of Saudi-Arabia, located in the central part of the Arabian Peninsula, is covered mostly by large deserts of rock and sand with low precipitation and a very arid climate. During the last 20 years a continuous increase in groundwater extraction has taken place due to industrial and agricultural activities.

Climate change impact on watershed response

Mathematical models of global climate can reproduce many aspects of the physical climate system. General Circulation Models (GCMs) simulate physical processes in the atmosphere, ocean, cryosphere, and on the land surface. Predictive scenarios on climate change will be applied to selected GCM models and their output will be used on the PRMS hydrologic simulations.
